The Lezyne Saddle Bag is a bit different from the vast majority of the under seat carriers on the market. First, it is significantly narrower than most. This has the advantage of not getting in the way when riding back on the seat, so it is more comfortable. Second, it has a number of little pockets inside so you can stow various things without having to dig through the whole thing to find what you want; they also reduce the typical jangle that comes from too much stuff rubbing together. Third, and for me most important, it is divided into two parts each with its own zipper. I use the bottom one, which is the smaller of the two, for my wallet, keys, and phone. Better yet, there is a pocket in the bottom compartment that is a perfect sleeve for the phone. As a result, the phone is well protected from scratches, shock, and rain. I have found it sufficiently convenient that I replaced several existing bags with this one. Others have cautioned that the narrowness can cause problems if you wish to stash wide things. That would certainly be true, but I can't imagine it being a problem in practice.

This is the narrowest mid-capacity seat bag on the market. I like the narrow width since I have a narrow saddle (Fizik Arione) and a wider bag would rub against my legs when I'm pedalling. The Lezyne bag worked well for me for about a year. Then the zipper broke, making the bag worthless. The bag has a special supposedly water-resistant zipper. Perhaps that is less durable than normal zippers? Not sure if I will buy another one of these. This bag is also fairly heavy because of all the little pockets and compartments inside.

By Mark McIntyre
Already have one of these on my road bike so I added same to my recent mountain bike purchase. Really like the external pocket for multi tool and compartments withing main bag. More than enough room for road bike and even enough for 29er tube, etc. on other bike.
