Okay, let me start by saying that I rarely write reviews of products. I am a bicycle commuter, and for the past 17 years I have consistently put more miles on my bikes each year than I do a vehicle. I say this to let you know that I have tried just about every load-carrying solution on the planet.
I stubbled across this rack earlier this year and after doing some research, decided to pull the trigger on it. A problem I've always had with racks/panniers is heel clearance; I wear a size 13.5-14 shoe. I first installed this rack on my primary commuter bike. It's a steel-framed 1x9 that has eyelets for racks/fenders but the chainstay is not particulary long, about the length of your average road/racing bike. After installing it, I threw on my oversized Ortlieb panniers and sure enough, about 2 inches of clearance behind my heels. I was almost in disbelief. So then I installed in on my steel-framed single speed bike with an even shorter chain stay and guess what? It worked!! This rack moves the panniers back, down and away from ANY potential heel clearance issues. If it will work for my big feet, it will work for yours. Oh, and I should mention I of course run 175mm crankarms on all my bikes.
Durability: I now own four of these racks. I have 2 on commuter bikes, 1 on a dedicated touring bike and I installed one on my fiance's bike. Not a single issue. I have toured with this rack on rough roads with loads up to about 30lbs, have done numerous errand/grocery shopping runs with loads exceeding 40lbs.
One more thing I should mention as sort-of a comparison: I work at an outdoor speciality retail store. We are an Ortlieb/Tubus dealer. I can get Tubus racks at COST, however, I never purchased Tubus racks because even at wholesale cost they were between $100-$130. Some of my coworkers have the expensive Tubus racks, and even though they are nice and have a much nicer finish, this PAKRAK rack is a bit more solid, has more mounting options/heel clearance.
Bottom line: don't hesitate in this purchase and mounting it to your bike. You won't regret it.

I stumbled upon this rack at an LBS, together with the quick-release commuter bag. The shop sold me both at a great discount. I put the rack on my road bike and found the rack/bag setup to be great for commuting. The rack is sturdy, easily installed, and looks good on the bike.
I wanted a second rack for my poor weather bike so I could easily use my new bag on both bikes, but the shop didn't have a second one. Amazon to the rescue! I purchased the second rack at a great price through Amazon, and the super saver shipping was much faster than expected.
I highly recommend this rack, especially when used with the quick-release commuter bag from Ibera. Bicycle Quick-release Commuter Bag

Although we have not really used the product other than to install it thus far, I have to say the company's tech support is OUTSTANDING. They were both VERY responsive and helpful when we found that the mounting rods that connect behind the seat were too short. They immediately offered alternative rods and shipped them the same day FREE OF CHARGE!!! Also, the product itself appears to be very well made and sturdy.
I am looking forward to buying different panniers to use with this rack.
