This was a nice addition to my current rack in the back of my truck. The rear end of my road bike would move around during drives and would lean over. I have this set up now and it is rock solid. I would make the extensions to seat posts longer but works fine. It also helps with my mtn bike too!

Purchased this to use on my Trek mountain bike. I installed the mounts on my 2007 Chevy 1500 very easily. I have used the Gripper about 12 times in the last month and I still cannot believe how snugly it holds my bike in an upright position. The bike does not wobble or move at all, even while cornering quickly or driving at highway speeds. I can easily lift my bike into the truck bed and within 30 seconds have it ready to transport. If I had to think of a negative... I would like a quick disconnect feature to remove the Gripper from the truck so I could quickly store it inside the vehicle when not in use to prevent theft. Overall, excellent product that definitely exceeded my expectations.
Update 02/22/13 - I have had this now for about a year. Still very happy with it. I have not had any paint peeling or rusting that another reviewer mentioned. I sold my Trek and bought a Santa Cruz Heckler. I adjusted the gripper to fit my new bike in less than a minute, and it holds the bike very securely. My wife has a Ridley road bike that I have used it for a few times. Just a few seconds to adjust the mounts and her bike is very secure. It is also really nice to be able to leave the wheels on during transport. For the price, I couldn't be happier.

This is a great rack, once you set it up to the bicycle all you have to do is place the bike to it and lock it down, take about ten seconds.....I leave it on the truck all the time.
